I am waiting for the adjuster’s report on our damages after hurricane Ike in Texas. As the estimates for interior sheetrock, flooring and painting repairs and roof damages come in I hear different reports from other people as far as what the insurance companies allow for all the different items – such as: .00 per foot of fence replacement, .20 per sq.ft. for sheetrock etc. Does anyone have more figures that they know about?

I need some help. I have the Brinks 3000 keypad. I am able to activate and use the system but the keypad tones are faint and can’t hear it, especially, the door chime and pressing the keypads. If I put my ear to the pad, I can hear the beep, beep, beep. Is there are way to increase the volume on the keypad so the tones are heard?

As what the question above suggests, I’m wondering what are door magnetic contacts. I was originally thinking of buying a cctv camera, but, well, i can’t afford it as of the moment. Are magnetic contacts functional as they are, or do I still need to hook them to a separate door alarm device?Thanks in advance!

Several pixel-type parts to the screen (LCD?) are out. I need to get it repaired, but who knows if they need to repair the whole thing, or just a new screen. I’m not sure! I’d appreciate the help. Thanks!

When I set the alarm on my Sony Ericsson W850 it always get’s louder to the point where it is painful to hear (especially when you are just waking up).

Is there anyway I can stop it from increasing in volume.

I know you can switch off this increasing volume feature for normal incoming calls, but I can’t seem to do the same for alarm messages.

a simple gas heat furnace that was only using a black and a white wire to the old thermostat. This does not match anything, maybe white, but what about black?
Red wire, black wire are actually the two coming from the wall, disregard the white.

What do I need for a basic home security system.

I don’t want anything elaborate as I live in a "safe" area.

I want something like a remote operated button that my elderly mom can push in an event someone breaks in. A loud alarm that will go off both inside and outside to "scare" any robbers and alert her neighbors.

I have a central line and must have fluids running continously in the hospital or else the line could be lost. Is there an alarm that goes off before the bag goes dry or do they have to keep checking in my room?
