How do you know if your garage door opener has a receiver? and what do you do to replace a missing receiver?

I really need the make and model of the motor. Lots of receivers are internal. Do you have transmitters? Some radios will not work with certain openers. And sometimes adding a new receiver next to the motor having an internal receiver can cause interference.
They almost all do. The type varies a lot model to model, brand to brand, and you told us nothing in that regard. You might be able to get replacement remotes for your unit by using the model number off the unit.
Usually the easiest and cheapest solution is to buy a replacement kit with a receiver and two or more remotes. Those wire to where the push button connects on the opener. But the receiver requires an outlet to power it.
Good Luck.
