Can a laser damage a motion sensor?

I have one floodlight in my backyard with a motion sensor. I have had to replace the sensor twice and the whole fixture recently due to the motion sensor becoming inoperable. I have a control freak neighbor. Is it possible that he could be using a device to damage my motion sensor?

those things last in spurts, some last 20 years, some last 3 months. and doubtfully, but it is possible that a laser light can affect the function of a motion sensor, but i have never tested it.
I’ve never heard of it either.
I suppose the photoelectric sensor that keeps the light off during the day MIGHT be affected by a laser light beam.
Yes,
I think it actually would,
come to think of it.
But would it damage it?
I just don’t know.
