What to do when returning an item becomes a nightmare?
What to do when returning an item becomes a nightmare?
I bought a blue coat for both of my boys at Abercrombie and Fitch aprox 2 weeks ago. My sons zipper broke and tonight I went with a friend to exchange the coat. I was looking around the store with one of my sons, he was picking out clothes for christmas, while my friend asked about exchanging the blue coat. My son, who was at home, texted me and asked if he could get a red coat instead. My friend asked a store employee who was standing by the coats if we could do that. He said sure, just swap it. My friend, not knowing there was a security tag, placed the blue one back on the shelves and put the red one in the bag. We purchased 8 dollars in clothes for my son and were on our way, so we thought.

As I was walking through the exit, the alarm started beeping, due to the security tag on the red coat. We explained to the girl that we exchanged it, she said just go to the cashier and get the tag removed.

Here comes the hard part. Keep in mind they already have the coat with the broken zipper, and I my receipt in my pocket…They want the original blue coat, the one that they gave us as an exchange coat. They said they removed the security code off of it and we need to give it to them, or we leave with nothing..Of course the coat is nowhere in sight, and the employee that says just switch them denies saying that.
I had to call the police, receipt in hand, no replacement coat, they said we were accountable for the blue one we put back on the shelf. I NEVER left the store, never got to so they should KNOW I didnt steal it. Then they tried to accuse my other son of stealing his coat, had a receipt for that as well.

The police said there was nothing they could do. They reviewed cameras and could not place theft charges against us. So.. sorry this is so long, but now I am out 7 for the coat and had to buy another coat from another store. What can I possibly do about this? We sat outside the store for almost an hour waiting for them to review videos and they kept the coat with the broken zipper..Please help, any legal advice would be greatly appreciated. I have spent about 0 in that store this month alone, why in Gods name would I steal? I know alot of people do, but I didnt and I have receipts to prove it and they have cameras to prove it. Its not right!!!
Umm, I had a receipt when I went in to return the jacket and I left with a receipt, just didnt get an exchange…Instead I got more or less, accused of stealing..

Thumbs down to the intelligent person that said buy something new!! What dont you understand about them taking the coat I had a reciept for and not giving me another one or a refund? Please dont waste my time. I want legal solutions, not elementary school level answers..
Like I said…no retarded answers..I could care less if your going to bed…NO TARDS!!!
Im sorry, to be more clear they actually exchanged a blue one for a blue one..Then my son texted me and asked me if he could get a red one. My friend and I looked all over for the other blue coat..We checked all the racks, there was a man trying on some of the blue coats> We literally have NO idea where it was or if someone had put it in the back room of the store. All I know is they have cameras and we were merely there for an exchange and 2 shop..

The Haig/Kissinger depopulation policy by Lonnie Wolfe

http://home.iae.nl/users/ligh…

Special Report EIR (Executive Intelligence Review) March 10th, 1981

“Investigations by EIR have uncovered a planning apparatus operating outside the control of the White House whose sole purpose is to reduce the world’s population by 2 billion people through war, famine, disease and any other means necessary. This apparatus, which includes various levels of the government, is determining U.S. foreign policy. In every political hotspot – El Salvador, the so called arc of crisis in the Persian Gulf, Latin America, Southeast Asia and in Africa – the goal of U.S. foreign policy is population reduction. The targeting agency for the operation is the National Security Council’s Ad Hoc Group on Population Policy. Its policy planning group is in the U.S. State Department’s Office of Population Affairs, established in 1975 by Henry Kissinger. This group drafted the Carter administration’s Global 2000 document, which calls for global population reduction, and the same apparatus is conducting the civil war in El Salvador as a conscious depopulation project.”
“There is a single theme behind all our work – we must reduce population levels,” said Thomas Ferguson, the Latin American case officer for the State Department’s Office of Population Affairs (OPA). “Either they (governments) do it our way, through nice clean methods or they will get the kind of mess that we have in El Salvador, or in Iran, or in Beirut. Population is a political problem. Once population is out of control it requires authoritarian government, even Fascism, to reduce it.” “The professionals,” said Ferguson, “aren’t interested in lowering population for humanitarian reasons. That sounds nice… We look at our strategic needs, and we say that this country must lower its population – or else we will have trouble. So steps are taken. El Salvador is an example where our failure to lower population by simple means has created the basis for a national security crisis. The government of El Salvador failed to use our programmes to lower their population. Now they get a civil war because of it… There will be dislocation and food shortages. They still have too many people there.
“Civil wars are somewhat drawn-out ways to reduce population, the OPA official added. “The quickest way to reduce population is through famine, like in Africa, or through disease like the Black Death.” Ferguson’s OPA monitors populations in the Third World and maps strategies to reduce them. Its budget for Financial Year 1980 was 0 million; for FY 1981, it will be 0 million. The Global 2000 report calls for doubling that figure. The sphere of Kissinger in 1975, OPA was brought under a reorganised State Department Bureau of Oceans, International Environmental, and Scientific Affairs – a body created by Henry Kissinger.
“The agency was assigned to carry out the directives of the NSC Ad Hoc Group. According to an NSC spokesman, Kissinger initiated both groups after discussion with leaders of the Club of Rome during the 1974 population conferences in Bucharest and Rome. The Club of Rome, controlled by Europe’s Black Nobility, [descendents of the leading families that ruled ancient Rome – Ed.] is the primary promotion agency for the genocidal reduction of world population levels… Ferguson stated… “We are allowing people to breed like flies without allowing for natural causes to keep population down… That policy is finished. We are saying with Global 2000… that you must lower population rates. Population reduction and control is now our primary policy objective – then you can have some development.”… According to State Department sources, and Ferguson himself, Alexander Haig is a “firm believer” in population control.
“We will go into a country,” said Ferguson, “and say, here is your goddamn developmen
“We will go into a country,” said Ferguson, “and say, here is your goddamn development plan. Throw it out of the window. Start looking at the size of your population and figure out what must be done to reduce it. If you don’t like that, if you don’t want to choose to do it through planning then you’ll have an El Salvador or an Iran, or worse, a Cambodia.” According to an NSC spokesman, the United States now shares the view of former World bank President Robert McNamara that the “population crisis” is a greater threat to U.S. national security interests than “nuclear annihilation.” Through extraordinary efforts, the Ad Hoc Group and OPA estimate that they may be able to keep a billion people from being born through contraceptive programs.
But as the Ad Hoc Group’s report states, the best efforts of the Shah of Iran to institute “clean programs” of birth control failed to make a significant dent in the country’s birth rate… Now under Ayatollah Khomeini, the “clean programs” have been di
… Now under Ayatollah Khomeini, the “clean programs” have been dismantled… Behind the back of the President, Ferguson and others involved with the OPA and NSC group maintain that the United States will continue a foreign policy based on a genocidal reduction of the world’s population. “We have a network in place of cothinkers in the government,” said the OPA case officer. “We keep going, no matter who is in the White House…”

I live in Michigan. I worked at Gamestop for two months (back in 2005). At the end of the day, both my manager and I forgot to do the "check your pockets" thing before I left to go home at the end of the day. A few minutes after arriving home, my manager called and said "You need to come back and speak with us. Your cash register drawer is 0 short". I came back and assured him I did not take the money. I asked that they review the security camera tape for proof that I was innocent. They disregarded my request and said that I was being let go (fired). I didn’t argue, but wondered for years if I could’ve fought the discharge. The security video would’ve shown that I didn’t do it. Perhaps the store cameras were fake and that’s why the manager disregarded my request. Would I likely have needed a lawyer to fight this?

I’m wondering if Gamestop recorded the reason for firing me as "left store before getting pockets checked". If they did, then perhaps I’d have no case against them for wrongful discharge/termination/dismissal.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) – Lured by unsupervised, third-party brokers with promises of steady jobs and a chance to sightsee, some foreign college students on summer work programs in the U.S. get a far different taste of life in America.

An Associated Press investigation found students forced to work in strip clubs instead of restaurants. Others take home an hour or even less. Some live in apartments so crowded that they sleep in shifts because there aren’t enough beds. Others have to eat on floors.

They are among more than 100,000 college students who come to the U.S. each year on popular J-1 visas, which supply resorts with cheap seasonal labor as part of a program aimed at fostering cultural understanding.

Government auditors have warned about problems in the program for 20 years, but the State Department, which is in charge of it, only now says it is working on new rules. Officials won’t say what those rules are or discuss on the record the problems that have plagued J-1 visas.

John Woods, deputy assistant director of national security for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, told the AP there were at least two federal investigations under way into human trafficking related to J-1 visas. He would not provide details.

The AP interviewed students, advocates, local authorities and social service agencies, and reviewed thousands of pages of confidential records, police reports and court cases. Among the findings:

— Many foreign students pay recruiters to help find employment, then don’t get work or wind up making little or no money at menial jobs. Labor recruiters charge students exorbitant rent for packing them into filthy, sparsely furnished apartments so crowded that some endure "hotbunking," where they sleep in shifts.

Students routinely get threatened with deportation or eviction if they quit, or even if they just complain too loudly. Some resort to stealing essentials like food, toothpaste and underwear, according to police.

"The vast majority of participating students in this program find it a rewarding experience and return home safely," the State Department said in an e-mail to the AP.

But it’s not hard to find exceptions. Most of the nearly 70 students the AP interviewed in 10 states, hailing from 16 countries, said they were disappointed, and some were angry.

I collect SSDI (social security disability). With good income, savings, and credit, I easily qualify to purchase a home. I have a home under contract. I have started escrow. I have signed heaps of loan documents.

This afternoon, my loan officer asked me to furnish proof that my disability is going to last 3 years or longer, or a letter stating that my disability is permanent. This has me in a pickle. I’ve been disabled since 2003. I am reviewed every 3 years. I just had a review in May, so that means I have just under 3 years of guaranteed payments before I’m reviewed again. Social Security chooses to use the words ongoing and continuing, but will not say "permanent" for even a quadrapalegic because she too may walk again???!

If there are any lenders out there–please let me know how we handle this situation. I can get my doctor to write a letter with a professional opinion that my condition is not likely to improve (i.e. permanent). Has anyone dealt with this.

Please only kind responses.

I don't trust my partner!?

I’ve been in a man to man relationship for almost 4 years. For the past year, I have been having many doubts about the emotional stability of my relationship. One year ago, my partner and I visited his home country. My partner had been in his country 3 weeks prior my arrival. We stayed with his parents. My partner introduced me to all his friends and relatives and shared all the pictures he had taken before my arrival. While still in his country, I was reviewing through his camera pictures, pictures he had shared with me already. I came across a picture with my partner and another guy, arms on each others shoulders buddy type picture, his parents in the background. A bit of doubt did cross my mind because this was the one picture my partner never shared with me. I let it go. The day of our flight back home, at the airport, while almost going through the security inspection, the friend from the picture suddenly showed up. There was a look of sadness in the friends face, a look of confusion on my partners face, and a look of awkwardness on both my in laws faces. Ever since this day, I have no longer trusted my partner. Several weeks after our arrival home, I talked to my partner about this situation. He assured me there was nothing for me to worry about, but he did not confirm who this other person was ( no friend, no relative).Even though I haven’t seen anything bothersome, this situation has made me question my trust for my partner. Am I over reacting, do I need psychological help? Please advise.

I came home, realized I had left it at the store on a shelf. (Yeah, I know, dumb.) Anyway, so I realize I had lost it, tried to call Sprint to see if they could locate it & they couldn’t. So I called the police. They came out, he wrote everything I said down and we went to the store to review the surveillance tapes, like we were told we could do by the cashier. We get there to have the security guard tell us "No, I’m not wasting my time looking through today’s tapes just for a cell phone." So the officer replied, " Sir, she has the receipt from earlier when she purchased something here." Still NO! Unbelievable right? Well wasn’t he interfering in a police investigation? The cop said there was nothing I could do. I’m going to call the owner in the morning, but I really want to know what the deal is. I feel like him saying it was "just a cell phone" is very hurtful. I mean, that thing is worth 0!! & thankfully just transferred my pictures from the SD card today! Please, any help will be greatly appreciated!
