How to disable a DSC PC1550 home alarm permanently, please help ty!?
When we moved into the new house it came with a DSC PC1550 home alarm system. We had asked the previous owner to disable it for us permanently but he didn’t know how to either. The problem is it gets very hot in the summer and every time i open one of the windows the alarm starts beeping , about 1-2 seconds of beep every 5-10 minutes. I dont know what the master code is but i did find a grey box in the basement of my house that reads "DSC" on it. It would be GREATLY appreciated if anyone can tell us how to permanently disable this alarm so we dont have to wake up at 2-3am every morning to button mash the keypad to make it stop. Thank you!!!

It’s got to get it’s power from somewhere. Locate that and the backup battery will run down in time. If the grey box you found in the basement is plugged into a power outlet, that’s probably it.
If you can open the control panel, unplug one of the wires from the 12 volt battery and disconnect either one of the wires connected to the first two screws (marked AC).
The manual for the 1550 is below.
Don
Turn off the power, then cut the wires to the keypad or whatever is making the beeping noise.
