I am looking for a fully trained bull mastiff for personal protection, any ideas on where to get one?
I need a personal protection dog and really have my heart set on a bull mastiff, but cant seem to find one. I also wondered how I can get a certificate so I can take my dog everywhere?
Just to clarify I am willing to spend time training. I want a dog that was breed to be a protector and that was raised to be one and I would love to spend time in training with the dog.

There is no certificate that will permit you to take a personal protection dog everywhere. They are permitted only where both pets and weapons are permitted.
The U.S. Department of Justice hotline can clarify this for you:

are you disabled in some way? I think that’s the only way you can take your dog everywhere with you.
try looking at craig’s list or your local shelters. they have tons of bigger dogs in need of good homes. either way though, you’re going to have to put some training time into the dog. even if its to get you to learn HOW to get him to respond to you. no such thing as a dog that "comes out of a box perfectly".
That is because bullmastiffs are hardly used for PP work. The breeds temperament just doesn’t suit it so people don’t seek it out and people don’t breed for it. Furthermore, Do you know that you can handle a PP dog? Its important to remember that both breeding and training go into making this kind of dog and you must be prepared to handle such a confident, strong minded dog. You cannot take a PP dog everywhere unless they are also a service dog.
Here’s a place that appears to have fully trained dogs. I do not vouch for their authenticity, etc.

You CANNOT take a dog with you everywhere unless they are a licensed service animal. For example, a seeing eye dog. A therapy dog, or a companion animal cannot earn those licenses.
You would have to become a police officer to have a professionally trained protection dog that you can take everywhere.
Only SERVICE animals are allowed everywhere.. you’d have to have an actual disability that interferes with daily life skills, and the dog would be trained to perform tasks that assist with your disability… a dog trained as a protection dog has no place in public.
A personal protection dog costs well over $10,000.. and not just anyone can obtain one.. if you feel a need for extra protection, I suggest you call brinks.
It’s fine to get a dog for protection, but you really should be involved in the training. The dog needs to learn to listen to you and you alone. Even if you do get a trained dog, you will need to work on the training every day for it to be safe and effective.
Look for trainers in your area who do this kind of work. Make sure that they have a good reputation. They can direct you to good a breeder and give you information on how they will work with you to train your dog.
This is not a dog used for often for protection. And I highly doubt anyone is going to let you take a protection dog everywhere. Trained protection dogs cost a fortune. It’s just easier to get an alarm for your house.
You need to get the dog as a puppy and train it yourself. It is not smart to get a dog that you haven’t raised that is essentially trained to attack and expect to to be a loving pet. And, you can not get a dog Service Dog Certified if it is potentially a danger to the public.
Get a gun.. dogs aren’t weapons.
sounds like you want it for the wrong reasons and you are not even willing to spend the time training it, i feel sorry for whatever dog ends up in your hands
Only the person capable of training it should have a protection trained dog. Not many owners out there are worthy. Get a permit to carry instead.
Well you can’t just buy a certificate, you have to have a reason to take him everywhere, as in if you are blind you can take your guide dog with you everywhere. Go to your local shelter and ask for one if that is the case. If not, i dont see a possibility. if you want to find a loving bull mastiff, try http://petfinder.com/, where it is a shelter and you can adopt from poor pets in need of a home, or http://www.puppyfind.com/ where you can search for pet that was previously owned or a puppy that was just born and is ready to go, both sites you can search your breed, age, and location, i am more aware of puppy.com because i know they have pictures, price, location, and all the vet records, i.e. they have shots and are akc record etc. they are really good. if you have lots of money, try a bull mastiff breeder, (scroll down) http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/dogs/breeders/1100058/ and just check for your location im not sure where you are but they have good healthy pets, (yet pricy), im sure you will find what you are looking for. Remember to get your dog registered, and train him and love him and groom him and you know all that good stuff. take care of him a puppy is a big responsibility! and good luck!!
Get some pepper spray.
depends on what state your in! i cant tell you where to look because i don’t know your state! i know of a guy in Florida who has same nice dogs some fully trained others just puppies! and he can any dog you buy! the dogs he trains are not aggressive in-till you ask them to do their job send me a message and i will see if i can help you find a dog for you!
as for taking your dog anywhere that’s based on your state!
Nekkid Bootie….while I normally agree with most of your answers (and Absolutely LOVE you avatar! ), a properly trained protection dog is an extremely safe and social animal…and absolutely should be in public. I’m not talking about the good old days of just creating an aggressive dog that will bite…I’m talking about a dog specially selected for this…and a minimum 18 months of training. I did the whole "3 week protection courses" in 1980…. But that’s when I didn’t know squat. A trained protection dog is FAR less likely to bite someone than an untrained dog. In 30 years, only 4 of our dogs have actually had to bite someone. 95% live in homes with children… ALL of them accompany their owners "almost" everywhere. It’s amazing how lenient business owners are when the dog behaves better than the children that are "legally" allowed. That aside…
Stay away from the Philippines dog dealer. You’ll be hard pressed to find a protection trained bull mastiff….but the visual deterrence should be enough.
There are plenty of people that will "train" (using the term loosely) a bull mastiff to do "Protection" work (make them aggressive) for a relatively small amount of money. But a WELL TRAINED, carefully selected dog, will run a minimum of $15,000. Anything less, and you’ll just own a dangerous animal.
Dutch pretty much said it… If you have a few tens of thousands lying around, and your really commited to aquiring a good protection dog, then definatly look to breeds better suited for such work.
With some exceptions, mastiffs breeds are typically not indicated for serious working applications.
Unless you do professional security work, or are a high profile target, chances are you really dont ‘need’ a personal protection dog. In which case, a high-drive bull mastiff should do just fine. Look to sire and dame as the road map for temperment qualities that you desire. good luck.
