i have an ADT alarm system in my house, if door opens when activated the police dept. will get notice and will send a cop down,besides that i have loud alarm (indoor sounder) going off in my house ,also from ADT.
what happens if i cancel my service,will ADT take away my alarm system or will they leave it in my house and if they leave it ,will the alarm still be working in my house (indoor sounder) .
i want to cancel it so i can save the +/ month.

my neighbors went away for 2 weeks and they have and adt alarm system. they asked me to bring in the mail and water there plants and stuff. they have an adt alarm and when i tried typing in the code the alarm went off. I finally got it turned off but i dont know if i left if i turned it back on? to turn it back on do you type in the code then hit away? cause when i did that it didnt say anything and i didnt want the alarm to go off again and since you have like 10 seconds to leave i left. how do you turn the alarm back on? is it suppose to say something?

I’m just wondering if my ADT alarm system is not as effective because it is plugged in through one of the in house phone jacks instead of wired separately to the outside jack?
I heard that this is the "shortcut way" though, not being an expert, I have no idea.
Can anyone tell me if this is true?
And if so does it risk any safety securities such as easy disarming of the system and in return ineffective in communication with ADT?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Hello the ADT alarm system that was with the house we bought has started too beep until we click cancel on the key pad. We don’t use the system or pay monthly. However the chyme is nice. I think it says low battery. How do we stop this?

I got adt alarm system a couple of day’s and had it installed. I"m having a problem trying to cancel it. It’s a 3 year contract we signed. And the problem is they say they will cancel it but they we will have to pay the remainder of the contract which I think is ridicoulas. It’s been installed like only a couple of days. I asked to speak with a supervisor never called me back.

Right know I have regular att phone service, and a adt alarm system, if i get digital phone from timewarner cable can my alarm system still work or do I have to buy additional equipment?

I have an ADT alarm system in my home that is not activated. I do not care to have it monitored since it takes forever for the cops to come & more so just scares the intruder at the sound of the alarm anyway. Is there a way i can set the alarm to still chime when sensors are triggered without having to pay for the cost of monitoring service?

I have an ADT alarm system. The system worked great for 5 years. Now 2 windows trip the alarm. It is not a continuous ‘trip’. but they will be active for several hours / days and then trip. It is too expensive to call for service. I am wondering if I can add washers to the sensor contact point so that the contact point is closer to the sensor?
