ADT services are expensive but when we purchased our house the system was already installed. We didn’t buy an ADT monitoring system and then the battery died so we bought a new one but now the system has to be reprogrammed. Would we use an electrician or a computer technician if we went to avoid using ADT?

Hi all,

My house has ADT monitor system with all doors, windows, Fire and glasses censor monitored. We got broke in. They broke the glass door to the back yard, but the glass censor did not pick up the sound (the glass censor is placed on top of the glass door) and did not set the alarm off to notify the police.

They cleaned up my house

Any advice on how to take care of this situation.

So me and my husband just moved into a house with an old adt system. It is not actived, and will be eventually. But for now, it beeps every 30 seconds. It is extremely annoying. The previous homeowner never left us the codes for it so we have no idea how to turn it off, and we are afraid to mess with it in case it triggers the alarm. I have never had an alarm system, and I just want the beeping to stop.. any suggestions?

I currently have adt service but am thinking of upgrading to their new pulse service. I like how you can use your iPhone to arm and disarm the alarm, control the temp and light in the house. I called ADT but they would tell me the cost. Anyone have it or know the monthly cost and install cost?

Battery has failed on one of my door sensors. I tried to open sensor but have been unable to open same. I called ADT and person told me to use my thumb on one side and 2 fingers on other side of sensor. I was to apply equal pressure and sensor case should lift off. I have been unable to open the sensor. I am asked to pay .00 for service call to open sensor to replace battery which seems ridiculous. Help!!!!!!!!.

Alarm salesmen go door to door telling people that if you get an alarm security system monitored, such as ADT, Brinks, ..etc. You can save money on your home owners insurance.

Is there ANY truth or basis for this? If so, how much?

We go away on weekends and sometimes vacation. I’m wondering if it’s a good use of money to get a security system like ADT? We have little kids & do think about sex offenders too. Anyway, no one else in our neighborhood has one & I’ve never heard of a break in here (upstate ny). What do you think? Thanks a bunch!
