My 98 Windstar van is developing some strange quirks. The door switches that controll the interior lights and "door ajar" idiot light on the dash are not reading correct. The doors are completely shut, yet the interior lights remain on and when the drivers door is the "problem" the chime continues ringing alerting that the key is still in the ignition. This is a real annoyance. Is it possible this could be a result of low voltage from the electrical sytsem since the battery is getting old and could be becoming too weak? It still turns over good and starts well. Has anyone else experienced these types of problems due to battery problems?

Mine started at or before 3:30am last night, and of course it woke me up. The covers over the head offered a little relief for a few more hours.. After the nightstand alarm woke me to get ready for work, I had 20 minutes to get ready and no time to deal with the chirping thing mounted too high in the stairway ceiling. I did manage to hastily loosen the whole apparatus from the ceiling using the toilet plunger (it was a perfect fit), but it was still chirping as it dangled there from the ceiling several inches as I locked the front door and left to drive to work and clock-in on time (a step-ladder became the new "first thing on my shopping list" today), and it was still chirping when I got back home 12 hours later…
So, I grabbed a bunch of thick ol’ Reader’s Digest hardcovers to level my new step-ladder on the top two steps and went to work on that chirper. The thing unplugged easily, and the battery popped right out…Hey! Progress!! Except for one minor detail…
Just when I thought I had succeeded in relieving myself (and the neighbors) from that "one chirp per minute" annoyance, the thing KEPT CHIRPING!!! Without a battery, right there in my very hands!!
It was now a new Evil Force to be reckoned with!
So I stuck it in the fridge, where it sits still, at this very moment, and I just know I will be awakened at 3:30 tomorrow morning…
Help!!

I bought this truck that has an Auto page brand system installed, however I took it to an installation professional because its been acting strange and going off when the wind blows but not when he pounded on the doors and windows. He said that it was definitely not working properly and probably had faulty wiring and that for he could uninstall it. Well I don’t have to spend on an occasional annoyance. So if any one has any Idea how to take it out, that would be awesome.

WSB TV did a mini-series on audible car alarms in back 2004. A Turner Field investigation proved that thieves targeted parked cars with audible alarms, and that activating an alarm tells waiting thieves that handheld devices, digital cameras, even firearms may be present in ‘protected’ cars.
Add in the public annoyance factors and you might conclude that silent systems would be just as valuable –maybe more effective. Besides, what is the average person going to do if/when they see someone break into their vehicle?
Nothing.

When I set an event in google calendar, the default for alarm is on. Since there are many events in my calendar each day, the alarm feature becomes an annoyance. However, each time when I set an event, I have to go and turn off the alarm, it also is an annoyance. Do you know of a way that I can enter an event without setting off the alarm? TIA!
There is no where under settings to set the alarm off.

During a verbal altercation with another passenger, the bus operator became angry and physically removed me (threw me from top steps) from the vehicle which caused me to break my wrist upon landing on concrete sidewalk, among other injuries. Since the activities/altercation between myself and the other passenger was verbal only, wasn’t the bus operator suppossed to first use his silent alarm to alert the transit police considering there was no physical contact between any parties or was it okay for him to use his own discretion to solve his annoyance through the physical assault he inflicted upon me, as described. Do I have a basis for a lawsuit to offset my medical bills and loss of employment? What does it say in his WMATA bus operator guide, which I’m having trouble acquiring from that organization. Please advise, or contact me at (202) 509-5247. Thanks.
