Ever since we moved into our new house in October of 2010, weird things have been happening. All together there’s 7 of us and two pets. we’ve had footsteps running/etc up and down the halls, in our rooms and up and down the stairs, we’ve also heard voices in out attic which is unaccessible and sometimes when we’ll be in the middle of a conversation someone starts yelling or once in a while screaming. Doors open and close, mostly the small closet door by my bedroom at the end of the hall. I used to see someone in my bedroom window staring back at me before i finally threw a blanket over it (a very dark and disfigured face, piercing gold eyes). Once in a while it would feel like someone is crawling over top of me and i would wake up in a state of panic from either being awake and feeling it or feeling memories come back again. My dog will growl at something randomly or my cat will stare and follow something with his eyes on the ceiling. It stopped for a month or so and then tonight (May 1, 2011) our disarmed alarm system suddenly went off! Fire alarm, burgalur alarm, etc. and when we checked it it said back door, front door, all the rooms, and the basement were breached or whatever you call it! My entire family, mostly my mom and 4 younger sisters, are freaking out! My step-dad is telling us to ignore it and we keep saying what in the name of cheese would’ve set it off. I started asking if maybe that stuff was starting up again and he had said no, it doesn’t exist nor do they cause things like this. Please! I need someone to help me protective my mom, dad, and sisters!
I only see it in my room, or wherever i’m at in the house. i refuse to look in any type of reflection and with me on the computer facing a screen i feel like i’m about to face hell itself! My dad refuses to acknowledge it because im guessing he’s either in denial or something similar to that. and last time i saw it, it was more clear and solid. I’ve asked my friends who believe in god and they always get goosebumps and feel threatened, but we’re planning on trying to secure the house with what they call the word of god, and as for the wicked stuff or whatever, we never believed in this stuff and when i went searching through my room thinking that there shouldn’t be anything that would bring this thing here, i found an ouija board. i haven’t a clue how to get rid of it, but i bought it as a joke and its been collecting dust in my closet ever since we moved in in October, and i got it in early december. and before you state that its ALL because of the damned board it isnt. this all start

I had my home broken into 2 months ago. I did have an alarm…but they broke in through the bedroom window and the motion sensor did not detect their prescence until they went out into the hallway. By that time, they had gotten a fair share of merchandise from my room. I immediately had the alarm company come out and install glass break detectors on all of my windows in case it happened again. Sure enough, it did! ARGH!!!!!! I called the alarm company to get an alarm history, only to be told that the only alerts that they got were from the hallway…the glass breaker detector did not even work! There was no indication that anyone had entered through a window. The rep told me that the GB detectors should be blinking green (they weren’t.) She then told me to test the alarm by putting keys in a glass and shaking them close to the detector….did so, it lit up but made no sound. They were able to determine that they were installed incorrectly. Can the security company be held liable for my stolen goods?

Had a break in attempt that left my son’s bedroom window cracked with obvious pry bar indenting to the vinyl window casing and another window’s screen cut. What’s the best security system without using a subscription type carrier?

I was sitting on the computer looking at some stuffs when all of a sudden the burgular alarm went off and it told me it was my front bedroom window so I immediately called 911 and notified the police about the situation. This is not the first time this has happened because the same thing has happened last week. But when they brought in the K-9 dogs to sniff around the places i said i saw the burglars ran they said they founded no trace of people at all. The Lieutenant officer then said he thinks it’s something wrong with the burglar alarms system and requested me to tested it. How come they think it’s a alarm malfunction when i saw someone ?? Do you they think I’m playing false alarm games ?? I was home alone when that happened and i feel like no one believes me of what i saw. It has happened multiple times this past few weeks and I don’t know what is going on right now.
What could I do to make them believe me there was people trying to break in ??? My stupid digital camera ran out of batteries when I tried to take pictures of the burglars on the outside of my house.

It was performing as it should (hence motion detector) and lately the light just comes on and stays on. I have tilted the sensor and tried changing the timer.

I can’t leave it on all the time, the light is just outside my bedroom window.

What’s the dealio here? Any ideas?

Bear with me, and sorry for the length. I just need some kind of info on my rights here. A couple of months ago, I had a burglar alarm system installed. About a month ago while I was home and the alarm was not armed, I get a call from the company saying there was an alarm coming from my address, but as I explained to her, I was home, the alarm wasn’t armed and there was no reason for an alarm to be coming from my address. I didn’t get much of any satisfactory explanation as all she said was they were probably installing another alarm in my area, so were getting an errant code from another address (which makes no sense to me). Anyway, yesterday I was out of town for the holiday and as we pulled into my street, I see two police cars in front of my home. We get into the drive and there are cops at the door, and one at the bedroom window. When we got out of the car, they asked if one of us was Eric…no Eric lives here. They said the alarm company had a panic alarm from my address from this Eric person, and in fact had spoken to this person over the keypad intercom, and apparently this person needed help. We unlocked the door, the officers went in and checked through the house, and of course there was nothing out of order. Unfortunately, before we had gotten home, the officer at the side window had gotten to the point of cutting my screen, so now I’m left with damage that actually leaves my home more vulnerable to a break in as the window happens to be on the side of the house without lighting. I also have to wonder about this Eric person…did he not get help while the police were wasting man hours breaking into my home where there wasn’t a problem? All I’m getting from calling customer service is long hold times and haven’t been able to get any help at all. I spent the next couple of hours fielding calls from curious neighbors (as the police had gone to the neighbors asking if they knew us or our schedules, etc), and waiting on hold with the alarm company. needless to say, this wasn’t a good capper to my holiday, and now I’m left with actual damage that I’m probably going to have to pay for, and I have to be paranoid this will happen again. Any suggestions? Is there an agency this should be reported to? I can’t have the police breaking into my home every time someone else pushes the panic.I just don’t feel I should be responsible for this damage, and this security system isn’t making me feel very secure! Frankly, I just want out of this contract.
