i am looking at ordering either ADT or Brinks home camera survellience system with the dvr box to record…it says on their website that they can give you up to 12 cameras, but they don’t say how much this costs??? does anybody have this? keep in mind for those of you that just like to answer questions, you are not purchasing the cameras or dvr box, you’re just renting it from ADT or Brinks, and paying for the service. i just want to know how much they charge to install and monthly fees thereafter….thanks!!

Anyone know what is the better alarm system for homes? I heard APX, Brinks/broadview (i think is the sub company), DMP or slomin’s. ADT i heard is too big for it’s own good. I’m leaning towards APX, Brinks or DMP.
i did check for reviews online, i checked also lawsuits and systems….not really decisive. That’s why I was looking here. I think I maybe leaning to slomin’s or brinks.

i will be moving into an apartment soon and im paranoid about it getting robbed. Im wondering if I can get an alarm system installe in it? I was thinking about brinks or something..

there is a broken key stuck in there. i already tried prying the key out. i’m trying to remove the entire piece so i can push the key out from the inside but can only get once side off. i need instructions for removal/installation.
it’s a brinks deadbolt.

I’d like to know who has the best home security out of all of these: Brinks/Broadview, Ackerman, ADT, System 5, Linder (LLS), Bulldog. These are the mainstream companies here in Atlanta. Or maybe someone can you recommend a decent service? Thank you.

I have a Brinks system. I cancelled monitoring because it was /month. I want to start monitoring again at a lesser rate. Brinks ‘owns’ the equipment and I’ve heard they will sometimes come and take it out – leaving holes in the walls. I could pay 0 and the equipment is mine but that is an expense also.
I called them up again to restart service and they said it would be reactivate fee. They would wave the reactivate fee if I signed a 3 yr contract. I don’t want to pay / a month again and they did not offer a lower rate.
Is there a cheaper alternative or am I stuck w/ Brinks.

I want to buy one I don’t want or care that they are outside of Banks or stores I wanted to know information on if some older used Brinks trucks were sold to people at an auction or somewhere

I have an old brinks bhs-4000a system in my house and I was think of taking that out and put a system in where i can hook up all the door/window/PIRS/smokes/ etc. up and then hook up relays to lights, A/C, mag locks, dorr latches and other devices to turn on and off. I would also like to get a mic and speaker to do 2 way and ptz cameras and record temperature or if there is flooding (inputs that are digital for sure but analog would be nice but analog is NOT a must). I want a system that can hook up to my computer or the network/internet so I can control devices via the web and get text messages (or emails about troubles and alarms) and have many zones like 40 to 100.

What would be the best way to do this? What brands and products would work best? Cheaper the better but I do under stand that I may have to pay $$$ to get what I want. I’m an experienced electrician and just started in the electronics systems industry. I can program about anything (may take me some time but I’m a fast learner and can figure out about anything (with some help of people I know))
