I live in a railroad apartment with 6 rooms. Someone is always home during the day. Five people live in this apartment. Its on the second floor of a three story apartment building. There are two other apartments on the same floor. I have 2 little dogs. What are the odds of someone robbing this apartment? Where are same places to hide things that a burglar might not look?

This may sound crazy but today my teenager thought she saw a burglar and dialed 911 on some house maintenance people one of them were black and the other was white. And now the company is trying to claim prejudice on us.

I currently live in a town where you normally do not even need to lock your door at night, but recently there have been a few burglaries. I own a few guns and I know that if a burglar enters my house and I feel threatened I am allowed to shoot him, but I would not be able to live with myself if he were to die. So I would like to know where in the abdomen/arms/legs it would not be lethal if it came down to where I needed to fire on him. Thank you for your future answers.

This never happened to me, but if I left my house and while I was gone a burglar came into my house and my dog killed him, would I be liable? I would be he owner of the dog. Would it make a difference wether the burglar had a weapon or not?

Also wondering could we be fined for this.

should you call 911 and if you do will they take you seriously. and what if he threatens you? do you say santa broke into my house and is threatening me? Or if you report and the officer asks you to describe what the burglar looked like, and what if all you can say is he looked like santa claus. then what

Last night my flatmate heard some banging noises and someone walking down the hallway, but none of the other flatmates claim to be awake at the time, so it was probably a burglar. How can we deal to him next time he comes?

If I use a scalpel on a burglar to protect myself ( i tell him that i will kill him if he comes in the room ) , can he sue? Is a teenager with no medical background allowed to even have a scalpel?

I would imagine that those fake video surveillance cameras ( not the cheap junk but a good realistic kind) would keep the "average" burglar away.
If I was one, I would not investigate to find our and just move to another house without them.

If a burglar breaks into your house would you
A:Call the cops or
B:take matters into your own hands?
If you would take matters into your own hands what would you do?
