Yesterday morning at 4:30, my parents burglar alarm was set off. The police came and checked the house and couldn’t find a cause. Later my Dad found that a bee-bee had punchured his window. That is a strange time for anyone to be using a bee-bee gun. Do Burglars ever use this method to see if the home is unsecured and occupied? I can’t understand this happening at this hour of the morning unless someone has bad intentions…..Am I just being paranoid? Has anyone ever heard of this before?…I’m really curious and a little worried…

We just purchased a home that has an adt system installed. I called to see the cost of activating & she said it will be a month since we do not have a phone line. I thought about buying a self installed alarm that just chimes when someone breaks in since that is the true thing that really scares burglars anyway. Then i wondered can i set my current adt alarm to do this & not use there monitoring service. Just use there system which is already installed?

The ones where the girl is at the house and shes doing her normal stuff… and some dude is trying to break in the door? Have you ever noticed that the burglars are always white? I have seen 3 or 4 different versions of this and there is no exception. Why are all burglars white in these commercials?

I’ve read in books that beagles make bad guard dogs because they’re friendly toward strangers. BUT I also read that burglars might think that they’re a larger dog if they only hear their bark. Do you believe this?

Beagles have a call so unlike other dogs. And Bassetts sound deeper than a big dog in my opinion.

We are having a home security system installed tomorrow…I’m wondering if they are really effective? Do they really deter burglars? Should I feel 100% safe when I go to bed with my alarm on?

I do not subscribe to Brinks but I found Brinks picket signs and stickers that say "This home is protected with Brinks home security." If I put those out in front of the house, would I get in trouble?

My main reason to stick the BRINKS stickers is to scare off burglars but I guess free advertising too.

I’m planning on getting two indoor wireless security camera and one outdoor one.

Will it be advisable to put up some fake security cameras as well?

I live in a safe neighborhood and never had any problems the past 10 years, but better to be safe than sorry.

Can you give me any tips about both real wireless security camera and fake ones?

It’s just to keep the opportunistic burglars at "bay". I know nothing will keep out hardened criminals if they want to rob and kill me.

As the economy has gotten worse, the crime in our area has gone up. We’re moving across town, and we want a home security system. We were wondering how well the different brands are, and which deter burglars the best. A month ago we had the house broken into 3 times in 8 hours.

How does Brinks compare to Guardian, compare to ADT?
