Ok.. so… my grandmother just move in with us… so I assigned her a new code. I went by the book and everything. I go to show her how to work it, and I set the alarm to STAY mode. I allow it to arm, then open a door to show her how to disarm the system. I open the door….. NOTHING. The system just sits there in STAY mode. I don’t get a "beep… beep… beep…" that I usually get, yet when I disarm the system… I can open the door and still get a chime. Any thoughts? The keypad is a Honeywell/Ademco Vista Series VISTA-20P
It has worked perfectly, with only one false alarm in one year, up until today. Any thoughts?

My 98 Windstar van is developing some strange quirks. The door switches that controll the interior lights and "door ajar" idiot light on the dash are not reading correct. The doors are completely shut, yet the interior lights remain on and when the drivers door is the "problem" the chime continues ringing alerting that the key is still in the ignition. This is a real annoyance. Is it possible this could be a result of low voltage from the electrical sytsem since the battery is getting old and could be becoming too weak? It still turns over good and starts well. Has anyone else experienced these types of problems due to battery problems?

My chime for my doorbell has been making a low buzzing sound long after it’s been rung. My husband just figured the button was sticking and forgot about it. Today my smoke alarm went off and I noticed an electrical smell coming from the chime (which was luckily hung right next to the smoke alarm). I called the fire department and their heat camera showed my chime was really hot and smoking. They quickly dismantled it and showed me one of the metal prong connectors inside the chime was actually causing the heat and smoke. I had my toddler son at home with me and this just terrified me. If we wouldn’t have been home, this could have burned my house down! How could something like this happen?

I want to sneak out but we have an alarm system. We dont ever turn the actual alarm on but the chime is on 24/7. It’s magnetic but I don’t know what kind of magnets to use or where to put them. Also it’s a Honeywell system. Please be step by step specific with your answers.

I purchased a house that included a Honeywell alarm system that worked with chime and all. After a while I turned on monitoring service by TNT. After my contract was up I had the monitoring service turned off because I rarely used it. Now it wont work at all. TNT said that I need to have it reprogrammed. How do I do that?

I have a 92 Saturn, and the seat belt alarm is driving me crazy. It doesn’t matter if I have my seat belt plugged in or not (though I always have it plugged in), the chime goes off and the light flashes at random intervals as I drive. Some days it stays silent, and some days it goes off relatively constantly.
This is so annoying it leaves me just screaming at the dashboard in frustration, to no avail of course. What can I do? Is there something I can do to clean the connection, or is this something I can take to a mechanic to fix? If so, anyone have any idea how much it would cost?
