There is some people going around saying their from Honeywell and they’re selling alarm systems. I’ve heard that some people have been burgalarized almost right after this phony sales person comes to their homes. One of my dads friends was burgalarized last night. He had the phony sales person come up to his door yesterday, and he was burgalarized last night.
I’d watch for a beat up late model van with a trailer.
People wearing light blue polo shirts.
They don’t have business cards, or any identification. I’d watch for these people.

Lock your back doors and windows becasue that’s how they get in. Of course lock your entire house.

If you live near the airport and you just had new windows installed by the FAA look out. These phonys are looking specifically into these homes.
That’s how my parents house was almost hit. When he came up to the door he said "since you have new windows, you should consider new alarm systems"

i live in a small apartment and have a gas stove..whenever i use the oven after about 5 minutes of it being turned on the carbon monoxide alarm goes off and stays on until i open my doors and windows. What do you think is causing this? Is this harmful to me and my baby?, he is 4 months old.

Our unmonitored ADT alarm has gone off twice tonight. It is about 7 yrs old and we have never had a contract through ADT. We just set it for the extra protection it provides by the alarm going off when the doors are opened. Tonight for the first time ever it has gone off-twice. A very loud siren. We have called ADT just to see if they could give us an insight into what may be going on, but they did not know. We have checked all around the house and even called the police to see if there have been any reports of break-ins. Nothing. It is about 18 degrees here, is there any way the cold weather could be causing it to go off? We have checked the memory button on it and nothing comes up as being a trouble spot. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Thank you for your answer. The strange thing is that nothing is showing in the "zones" on our alarm, none of them are lighting up so we can’t even tell which zone is having the issue. We do have a motion detector in the house, but most of the security comes from the doors and windows being detected if they are opened while the alarm is set.

After my house got broken into I purchased an ADT security system. I recently discovered that not all of my windows are armed. These are windows on the first floor, some even face the street and are in the rooms that children sleep in.

I feel not only unsafe again in my home for me and my family, but ripped off by ADT. I have been faithfully paying for their service and turning on my alarm every time I leave the home. The installer of the system told us all the doors and windows were armed before he left.

How should I handle this situation? Do I have any right to ask for any compensation?

So my grandma has a one story house with a alarm system called Simon Xt she has doors and windows set up.So my question is if i were to sneak out the house but i left my window open before she turned on the alarm would it go off if i were to sneak out the window and take off the screen?

Alright, here the situation. My parents have an alarm system that has alarms on the doors and windows. All are magnets. Our alarm has a chime feature that lets them know if a window or door is opened. I can diable the chime sometimes, but only if one of them aren’t sleeping by the alarm. How can I get past these alarms without triggering it in any way?

I am planning to get a home security system and after weighing on my option between a monitored system from a DIY security system, I’ve decided to go for a DIY. I thought it would be more economical for me to do it than having some company do it for me and make me pay for every sweat on their foreheads. My neighborhood is also very peaceful and has not seen crime done for quite some time now. We also live in the better part of the city. I also installed security measures like adding more locks on my doors and windows, installing light sensors to almost every corner in my home, more outdoor light fixtures, more smoke and CO2 detectors, door jambs, even timers…but I do not sleep soundly. I wake up at night worried that somebody might be breaking in. My wife told me that a security system might do the job.

I made a little research and now I am ready to go buy. I saw several ads but I really do not need expensive systems. I looked on amazon, then saw what seems to be good buys on ebay. They offer packages with several door/window alarms, motion sensors, sirens, main panel with auto dialer, etc. and they are wireless. I am refraining a bit from buying now coz I am not sure if these systems are reliable and the sellers trustworthy.

Has anyone bought home security systems from ebay? How are they? The feedback from the buyers are mostly good, but Im still holding back. Any help?

I bought this truck that has an Auto page brand system installed, however I took it to an installation professional because its been acting strange and going off when the wind blows but not when he pounded on the doors and windows. He said that it was definitely not working properly and probably had faulty wiring and that for he could uninstall it. Well I don’t have to spend on an occasional annoyance. So if any one has any Idea how to take it out, that would be awesome.
