I have a teen boy, aged 19 living in MY home doing things he is not supposed to. I’m an easy going liberal type of mother, so don’t call me a natzi, please. BUT, I want to spy on him. He has a laptop and I think he is doing drugs in his room at night. I was thinking of a mico-recording device, or perhaps a spy camera. Any tips or ideas as to where to find such items? Thanks!

Know this sounds nuts, but my step kids are being put in a situation of the mother being unfit. In our state, if its public view, it is legal to be recorded. And you have to have proof to take her to court. So our lawyer suggested we save the $ of a investigator and record her ourself (because she has a rough past & he knows it wouldnt take but a few days of spy cam) There are at least 10 men in & out of there everyday, or more, she works at a bar, which opens her to these men who pay her for her "deeds". She also does drugs on her front porch with these guys while the kids are home. There are woods across the street & my sister lives right beside her so getting out there to set it up would be easy but how in the world do they work without being hooked directly to a computer. Of course a crack head isnt spending money on the net so there is no connection out there to netowrk to, so can you set it up without connection to the net and still see it from my house about 2 miles away (like from my PC)? I see battery cams, but I cant go out there everyday to change a battery. I dont know much about this stuff or how they work reallly other than a fewyoutube videos which seem to be more for local viewing with a VCR (how old fashion is that!!) But far as I see, most are made to get receiver from cam, hook it to the computer to load/view, BUT I cant run to and from & NOT be seen, so that method wont work…. Any suggestions on a brand made for viewing someone elses house like this? I would just cam my sisters, but its too far to see his ex’s house directly, but she can see who comes in and out. Which helps us greatly because my sis helps us on whats going on so we can get the kids when her crack buds are there. And his ex doesnt know my sister lives there & I dont want to give that away if all else fails in this case, so at least we know when the kids are being exposed and we can go get them or send my hubs family for a visit to get them out of the situation. meanwhile until we prove she is doing this stuff to the court, the babes are in a terrible spot.Thanks for the help. My sister has been getting into trouble latly with drugs. We finally got her off it, but she returns home from school late and says she was at a friends house. She keeps her cell phone off and there is no way to contact her. I can sometimes smell weed off of her when she gets home. Our family dosn’t trust what she says and we are thinking of getting a spy camera to rig onto her without her knowing. Is this possable? a camera on her necklace or hairband? somthing so we can see what she is up to?

This happens to me at least once or twice a year, but it happens to my husband once every month or so. He just sleeps through the alarm and wakes up right when it’s time for him to be at work or after he was supposed to be there.
Thanks for the details Sue. There are NO drugs involved. He occasionally will have a drink in the evenings and I suggested he not do that when he has to go to work the next day. It could be that the alcohol is relaxing his body.

Over 3 years ago I applied to a very big Police Department, I passed everything but was put on review for psych and was sent a letter a year later stating I had failed. I had put on the written that I had seen a psych when I was 17, which I didn’t believe was an issue, I believe that may have been why I was disqualified. I really feel like I got a raw deal that time around, but thats in the passed and I am looking foward.. Now I have just passed a psychical agility for a Corrections Department. I am really praying everything goes right. There are lots of guys retiring soon and not many persons passed the agility test. (only 9, they are looking to hire 5 right now and 4 more at the end of year supposedely)What do you guys think my chances are at getting hired: Here are some of my good point and bad points of my past

Bad:
Three Prior Arrests- 18 Years old- Shoplifting- Convicted of disorderly Conduct.
20 years old- Disorderly Conduct- Result was ACD
23 Years old- Disorderly Conduct- Resisting Arrest
Prior Disqualification from Police Department.
Since I was 15 also Ive had over 10 jobs (25 now). however many of these were temp positions (summer jobs) when I was home from college, I have never been fired once in my life. Or written up. Will they understand that?

Good Points:
I am currently employed as a Private Investigator. I also have years experience in Security and bouncing.
I am very imposing physically
I have never used drugs before.
I am a born again christian, I found myself a year ago, and since my life has been wonderful (Should I even tell them this at the interview)
I have over 10 Police Officers who will vouch for me as references.

Also for my shoplifting arrest (19 years old), I take responsibility for, I will not sugar coat it, what I did was wrong but that is behind me. the Disorderly conduct’s I was collared for are a different story, the 1st one(21 years old) I was left a bar for some pizza, and they wouldnt let me in because I didnt have a stamp (my jacket with my keys was in the coat room, so I insisted on being let back in, and was collared), and the other discon(23 years old) there was an altercation with a guy I knew whom was using my cell phone, I was inside of the bar, when I walked outside I saw the cops had taken him down to the ground, and my phone was broken on the floor, I was told to leave and just requested that I could get my phone together and be on my way. Then was collared for Dis-Con and resisting.

Please give me some advice guys, I have also been told by some in LE, that I should neglect to tell them I was ever DQ’ed from a Police department in the past. I think it was my honesty about seeing a shrink and not the arrest that got me DQed the last time (when I was 21). thank you for your advise. I really hope this goes well. Also I should add, I was never convicted of any crime Technically in my life only dis-con. Also, Yes I am hoping I can get into Corrections to Transfer sometime to Sherriff patrol in some time as I am from Law Enforcement family, and I have made some bad judgements in my past but I feel I could be an asset to Law Enforcement.
