I live in a new house with a strict weed abatement fire code and a private fire department. no threat of flood. roof would be covered by builders warranty. I am retired female and live by myself. no smoking. what is the reason to pay /mo for ho insurance???
I came home today from school and reheated some left overs in a plastic bowl that my roommate soaked in bleach all night last night. The fire alarm went off which doesn’t mean alot cuz you can burn toast and it will go off but the fire department came out and some big deal. well I told him you can’t soak plastic in bleach and expect to cook with it. He told me he soaks his dentures in bleach. well as you can tell he’s got the upper hand on me cuz he’s about 20 yr’s older then him and I can’t tell him nothing so I’m asking you guys?
99% of the time. If they don’t want to take their shoes off, they have the option of putting plastic bags over their shoes. The only exception was the fire department. That won’t be all that practical. Although one time, a fireman took his boots off-lol. He was very considerate, because he said my home is very nice. I was surprised. By the way, it was a false alarm with the CO detector.
Every time the fire department is called in my town, a very loud whistles blows for several minutes. What is the purpose of such a whistle?
With all the cell phone and beeper technology, fireman could surely be called by phone or with an alarm in their homes. Why should the whole town be woke up in the middle of the night? Public whistles should only be used in a public emergency, like a flood or tornado.
Mine is when the mother started cooking but went to work in the middle of cooking the meal. The father had already left for work so the kid was left all alone at home. The stove caught on fire, but I forgot to by a smoke alarm. Then the Social Worker came and got caught in the middle of the fire while trying to get to the kid. She totally burned to death! The good part was that the kid got to the phone and the fire department came. That was weird!!!!!!!!
How can the fire department know for sure ,especially when theres a huge apartment complex whther or not its real or false alarm? I know this sounds stupid but everytime they come here most times its a false alarm. How can they be sure though that it wasnt an actual fire? Is there something that they have that tells them? I see them come in but sometimes they come in for 5 seconds then say its false alarm. Is there something they check for this?
We bought a house with a custom alarm system, We never paid any monthly fees at all. I thought that it wasn’t monitored, but one day i accidentally tripped the alarm and police came. Is this system illegal?
It is also hooked up to smoke detectors and co2 detectors that call the fire department if it is triggered. I know the system is connected to a phone line.
This was a custom built home that we bought from someone. I called HOA and said they never heard of it or provide any alarm services to residents.
