Me and my fiancee live in a 2 bd 1 bth condo in downtown San Diego and don’t get me wrong it’s nice down here but some of the gang activity has her worried, so Im planning on installing or having a home security system installed..is this possible how do they work and who do I decide to choose?

I just bought a house in a "bad" neighborhood and would like to know ways to prevent "bad" things from happening. Any home security system worth getting to prevent such issue? What if the thief succeeded in obtaining what they strive to obtain, am i insurred under the security system company? any opinion and suggestion?

I’m looking to get a home security system or alarm with monitoring, but I don’t have a landline phone line. Anyone have any suggestions of companies to use? Has anyone had any experiences with GeoArm or Protect America?
If anyone has used a system with broadband monitoring (through the internet router) or a GSM (cellular) unit, that info would be much appreciated.

I am shopping around for a good home security system that isn’t super expensive and works wirelessly as we do not have a landline. So far, all of the reviews I have read for the top two companies (ADT and Protect America) sound like horror stories of fraud and faulty equipment. I just don’t want to get ripped off!
