I just got a new Honeywell Lynx Touch completely wireless alarm system put into today. It has GSM Cellular backup and everything is wireless. I am wondering if someone can use a rf jammer to jam up the signals and break in.

Ok.. so… my grandmother just move in with us… so I assigned her a new code. I went by the book and everything. I go to show her how to work it, and I set the alarm to STAY mode. I allow it to arm, then open a door to show her how to disarm the system. I open the door….. NOTHING. The system just sits there in STAY mode. I don’t get a "beep… beep… beep…" that I usually get, yet when I disarm the system… I can open the door and still get a chime. Any thoughts? The keypad is a Honeywell/Ademco Vista Series VISTA-20P
It has worked perfectly, with only one false alarm in one year, up until today. Any thoughts?

Well, normally during the summer, I would be awake two hours from now, but this morning, instead of waking up to the music that was playing from my computer, I woke up to a blaring alarm, while my dog was having a howling fest downstairs. At first, I thought it was my alarm system getting set off by an intruder, but after searching the house, there was no one, and the alarm system was off to begin with. I figured it MUST be the smoke detectors going off, but there was no smoke or fire. Also, neither Honeywell (our security system company), nor the fire department dispatch have called the house. What is going on?

I am using a 12 volt Honeywell PIR sensor, like the type you get in a burglar alarm.
Basically, I have wired up the PIR so that when it detects something, a 12 volt Volvo relay will switch, and activate another device.
The only problem with this is that the relay I am using draws 210 Milliamps through the PIR, and the PIR is only rated at 90 Milliamps. Consequently, the PIR gets rather hot, and eventually, I managed to burn one out because I left it on for too long.
Is there any way to reduce the 210 Milliamps going through the PIR to something more in the reigon of 90 milliamps, to prevent this from happening? Perhaps by using another component?

do they offer monitoring? is there anybody who will monitor their stuff? I see that they sell good security system parts, that’s why i’m asking. i heard somewhere that ADT charges 9 for a monitored smoke alarm, so screw that, I want to build my own security/fire system and have it MONITORED
help please!
I was wondering if there’s a company that, for a monthly fee, will let me set a phone dialer(these can be added to honeywell stuff) to call them and then they call 911 and report it

today was Senior Award Day at my school and i was certified from Honeywell to put up alarm systems. my teacher wanted to pass them out today in front of the whole school, i begged him not to call my name. i even offered him money not to call me. as the assembly went on, i was literally sweating and i was breathing heavily. i got extremly nauseated, i went in the bathroom to throw up. now i have a huge headache. is this normal????

I want to buy a mini fire alarm system. All I want to do with it is pull the lever and hear the sound – (as a room decoration and a conversation starter). Can I set this up by just buying this:

AND

WILL I HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE TO MAKE IT WORK? LET ME KNOW! THANKS!
