change the locks to something more high tech, i can’t put a latch, chain, bar, etc, getting ADT or slomin’s isn’t feasible, are there any gadgets i can purchase without damaging property? the bottom handle doesn’t allow for me to stick my key in further preventing someone from entering while i am asleep…the door knob is smooth surfaced from the inside…thanks!
and no, i can’t get a dog coz my building doesn’t allow for pets!

I have a 1991 toyota corolla, and i was think of getting an alarm system in my car since i park outside. would i be able to do that and roughly how much would that cost? o and would that make my locks automatic lock or would they still have to be unlocked with by hand?

I’m a landlord and i have a apartment that’s vacant. the old tenant was evicted and after the eviction i changed all the locks but she some how broke in and took all her belongings with out breaking a window or door. the bad thing is she still comes back on the property.

I am planning to get a home security system and after weighing on my option between a monitored system from a DIY security system, I’ve decided to go for a DIY. I thought it would be more economical for me to do it than having some company do it for me and make me pay for every sweat on their foreheads. My neighborhood is also very peaceful and has not seen crime done for quite some time now. We also live in the better part of the city. I also installed security measures like adding more locks on my doors and windows, installing light sensors to almost every corner in my home, more outdoor light fixtures, more smoke and CO2 detectors, door jambs, even timers…but I do not sleep soundly. I wake up at night worried that somebody might be breaking in. My wife told me that a security system might do the job.

I made a little research and now I am ready to go buy. I saw several ads but I really do not need expensive systems. I looked on amazon, then saw what seems to be good buys on ebay. They offer packages with several door/window alarms, motion sensors, sirens, main panel with auto dialer, etc. and they are wireless. I am refraining a bit from buying now coz I am not sure if these systems are reliable and the sellers trustworthy.

Has anyone bought home security systems from ebay? How are they? The feedback from the buyers are mostly good, but Im still holding back. Any help?

I have a Galaxy 5100RS car alarm/remote starter for a manual vehicle. I need to know before I start installing it, what other parts I am going to need in order to install the car alarm on a vehicle that has manual windows/locks? If you can help, I would appreciate it!!

i need to get our strong box open, you know, those metal fire proof locked boxes where you keep important things like birth certificates, passports, and other important documents? this one is a brinks (the home security brand) and my husband or i lost the key. we need to get into it but i assume you can’t pick those locks very easily? does anyone have any idea how it would be possible to get it open? thanks!

Keep in mind that most homes have .00 locks on the doors. Yet the average home burglary nets the thief almost 2 thousand dollars (or more) worth of YOUR stuff.

Do you have good locks on your place of residence?
or do you rely on "burglar alarms" for protection?

I am getting a 2002 Kia Spectra and it has manual locks and windows. I want to get a inexpensive but good alarm system and easy to install. Are they easy to install? What do you have to do? Any recommendations?
