The motion detector used in a physics lab sends and receives 45 kHz ultrasonic pulses. A pulse goes out, reflects off the object being measured, and returns to the detector. The lab temperature is 21.4339oC.
How long does it take for a pulse that reflects off an object 4.0933 m away to make a round trip?

i want to block a motion detector from working so I put eletrical tape over the sensor. will it stop the motion detector from detecting motion?

What does a motion detector need to set off an alarm?
i know the answer is something to do with infrared radiation because that is the topic we are doing in physics.

Hi! This is so frustrating……I bought an IR Motion Detector (along with other Quorum Products) a long time ago and now find that NO-ONE has instructions on how to use it. Quorum does NOT offer any support whatsoever for any of their electronics and it seems like there are many on-line looking for the same manuals for the same unsupported products. Anyone have one of these? I would very much appreciate a copy of the instructions.

I have created a motion detector program using Visual Basic. The program plays a wav file "Intruder Alert!!" upon detecting a motion. Now my question is how do I send signals to a remote alarm wirelessly? Any ideas? Any cool tutorials? What I have thought of is a simple trasmitter-reciver pair connected through serial port of the computer. But I don’t know how to start. Thanks in advance

The motion detector for the Playstation, which I believe is called the Move. Is it worth the 0? What games can you play with it? I know Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet 2, and the Michael Jackson game.

Can I install a motion detector vacancy switch without using red wire? The switch box only has black and white. Is there a way without running new wiring to the wall switch box? Thanks.

A stationary motion detector sends sound waves of 0.120 MHz toward a truck approaching at a speed of 55.0 m/s. assume the speed of sound is 343.0 m/s
What is the frequency of the waves reaching the detector after reflecting on the truck?

An astronaut sits on a chair that vibrates horizontally at the end of a string. A motion detector determines the amplitude of vibration and the speed of the chair as it passes through equilibrium position. The spring has a 1200N/m spring constant, the amplitude of vibration is 0.5m, and the speed of the chair as it passes through equilibrium is 2m/s. Using this data what is the combined mass of the chair and the astronaut.
