in class we dropped a ball off a ladder onto the motion detector. we produced a velocity v time graph, and after calculating the gradient the acceleration was 3.7 m/s . why didnt it fall at 9.8 m/s (g) ?

I am looking to buy a motion detector to turn on LED lights on my staircase.
I have done some research and I mostly found expensive ones that are already connected to lights, are bulky or are made for outdoors. I also want it to be able to hookup to multiple LED lights.
I don’t care if it is battery powered or not, I can do some wiring.
Thanks

…a switch that has an "on," "off," and motion detector setting. How do you set it for the motion detector option?
THANX!
Also, it’s a regular up & down light switch….

I just got the home security systems which I ordered from HSST. I was a bit scared making the order, but surprisingly the orders were processed quickly, and they arrived on time.
This was my first deal with them after receiving some review about them. I actually ordered one complete home security systems involving surveillance systems, motion detector and alarms. I would definately recommend this store. The price is competitive, but slightly lower that most. I found many items cheaper than other competing sites.

I’m renting a commercial building where I recently enabled a disabled motion detector security system. I pay the monthly fees for the system. I can think of some good reasons to give the renter the code to disable the system but I would like to know if by law he would have the right to request it from me since I don’t actually own the building.

My parents got an Alarm system From APX its a wireless LYNX system
but in my house there are 3 doors and 6 windows to protect (on the 1st floor)
and on the first floor they put in 3 door sensors and a motion detector
and on the 2nd floor just put a glass break sensor in one room and a glass break sensor in another room
will this be enough protection?
they are normal windows that slide up and down

I have the home security system, but ADT’s motion dectors only go inside the house. I had an attempted break in that they almost completed for I noticed the door jam had been cracked under the force of entry. I secured that, but now I would like to integrate a motion detector between the storm and main door, but ADT’s will not work. Can I integrate another company’s motion detector into my existing system?

Our unmonitored ADT alarm has gone off twice tonight. It is about 7 yrs old and we have never had a contract through ADT. We just set it for the extra protection it provides by the alarm going off when the doors are opened. Tonight for the first time ever it has gone off-twice. A very loud siren. We have called ADT just to see if they could give us an insight into what may be going on, but they did not know. We have checked all around the house and even called the police to see if there have been any reports of break-ins. Nothing. It is about 18 degrees here, is there any way the cold weather could be causing it to go off? We have checked the memory button on it and nothing comes up as being a trouble spot. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Thank you for your answer. The strange thing is that nothing is showing in the "zones" on our alarm, none of them are lighting up so we can’t even tell which zone is having the issue. We do have a motion detector in the house, but most of the security comes from the doors and windows being detected if they are opened while the alarm is set.

I’m moving to Seattle and I have a 94 mustang convertible. I’m worried some asshole is going to cut the top open. Obviously I’m going to remove my stereo faceplate and hide anything that might look valuable, but there are tons of crackheads in seattle so I’m thinking I might invest in a motion detector car alarm. Any suggestions?
