I caught a man attempting to break into my home about 2 months ago, now 3 days ago our neighbor’s house was SUCCESSFULLY broken into and robbed. We live in a very nice community, with gates (which may tempt theives). He called ADT and a man came to our door offering their service. He said the installation would be FREE. The only thing would be the monthly /month…..

Is ADT worth it??? Some people say not to put the sign out in your front yard but the ADT man said its proven by the FBI to deter criminals by 300%…..is this true????

My neighbor across the street has installed a video surveillance camera that is pointed directly at and filming the front of my house-yard, mailbox, front door, windows, everything. I have no issue with him wanting to keep his home safe but we have had problems with this neighbor and now he is videoing my home. Does anyone know the legalities of video surveillance on someone elses home? If it makes any difference we live in Florida

When I look out my window, camera is activated. What can I do about this?
Three permanent cameras all face my property. This is the only neighbor we have. I’ve talked to local law enforcement. They don’t do anything. We had a dinner party on NYE. All activities outside my back door were recorded. Is this right?

Do I need to warn the public that my house being video monitored if I wanted to use any actions against my house in court?

No seriously. Someone stole my outgoing mail from my mailbox and a neighbor keeps putting their trash in front of my house and it’s not disposed of properly so I’m going to end up getting fined for it. I need to prove that it’s their trash.

When in a residential area and a surveillance camera films the yard of a neighbor would that constitute invasion of privacy under illinois law, the camera does not film inside any residence.

I was at work and a neighbor called and said my car alarm was going off. I then returned home and and nothing was missing. I also think the doors were unlocked but Im not sure.

My husband works long hours. So I’m never sure when he will be home. We set the alarms on our cars because we live in a trailer park. Can my neighbor and the trailer park tell me that they are going to write me up and charge me because my horn hocks when I set my alarm to tell me that it is set?

Ok I live in an condo and the walls are apparently pretty thin. My neighbor’s fire alarm started going off at 4 this morning. It’s not the low battery beep, it’s full blown going off. It is now 5 hours later and it’s still going off! I have not been able to fall back asleep. Obviously no one over there is home. I tried calling the management office, but of course they’re closed on a Sunday. What can I do?? This is out of control and I’m starting to go crazy!
