my neighbors went away for 2 weeks and they have and adt alarm system. they asked me to bring in the mail and water there plants and stuff. they have an adt alarm and when i tried typing in the code the alarm went off. I finally got it turned off but i dont know if i left if i turned it back on? to turn it back on do you type in the code then hit away? cause when i did that it didnt say anything and i didnt want the alarm to go off again and since you have like 10 seconds to leave i left. how do you turn the alarm back on? is it suppose to say something?

It is 9 AM on the 4th of July, a holiday and I have the day off of work. Really wishing I could sleep in but my car alarm keeps going off every 15 minutes like clockwork since 7:30! My neighbors are probably going to kill me, why is it doing this and how do I get it to stop?

For some reason unlocking the doors turns it off. I pulled the fuse alarm but don’t know if that is enough. I’m worried about it just going off and waking the neighbors.

Ok so we purchased our 1st house and we have done some work to it. The heating system (our 3rd time using it while fixing up the house) decided to bang really loud causing smoke our fire alarms to go off & us calling the fire dept. Great way to meet the neighbors!
Well we had to have this replaced http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/tat2ed4eva82/IMG_0914.jpg <p>Since then everything has worked fine…That is until last night. I woke up pretty early to find it was cold. Our thermostat read 62…we had the heat on 69.

<p> Sorry for the bad quality but it gives you an idea of what’s going on. I will turn the heat off for a few hours then when it is really cold I will turn it back on. It will work for 10-15 minutes pushing out warm to hot air but then shut it’s self down (the video was taken after the heat stopped working) and will continue to make the noise until I shut off the heat. I can’t see the moor being the problem we just replaced it less than 6 months ago.

<p> I know it’s a little older, about 15 yrs old…but we are trying to keep it alive at least until the spring to replace it. But if it can be fixed I rather do that before dumping ,000+ for a new system. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong? I called my HVAC guy and he can’t make it out today to find out what’s wrong. I have 2 young kids & don’t want them to freeze during the night.
It is Gas….
We do have 2 heater fans keeping us ok at the moment, but when it gets to be night time it will get colder. I also went around the entire house today to check all my batteries in the smoke & carbon detectors so we are all safe if anything major is wrong.

What do I need for a basic home security system.

I don’t want anything elaborate as I live in a "safe" area.

I want something like a remote operated button that my elderly mom can push in an event someone breaks in. A loud alarm that will go off both inside and outside to "scare" any robbers and alert her neighbors.

Can I have the security pointed at a road, if part of neighbors property is on it? Like if i ever had to take legal action, could the part of the neighbors property cause problems?

in state of virginia…neighbors got security camera pointing towards our house. im thinking about setting one up towards their house.

We have lost the remote or what ever that thing is called. The alarm has set itself. The car will not start and the alarm goes off if the doors are opened. I was told if you let the alarm go for 10 minutes it would reset itself but my neighbors would hate me.

I’m pretty sure my neighbors are stealing internet from me. When I look at all of the wireless networks, mine is one of the only ones that’s an "unsecured wireless network". All the others require passwords and what not. My question is… is there an easy, understandable explanation as to how to get my network secure, possible password protected?
