How do you fix your car alarm?

I have a factory car alarm in my Honda Civic and my brother pressed something that now when I arm it the lights don’t flash and the car doesn’t honk like it used to to let me know I locked the doors. The panic button still works sounds when you push it. It’s not the battery in the remote either cause I tried both remotes that I have. How do I get it to arm the way it used to? Please help!
it’s a 2003 Honda Civic LX

Do you have an alarm system in your home?

If not … here is one you probably already have.

PUT YOUR CAR KEYS BESIDE YOUR BED AT NIGHT

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car, most cars have them these days. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. It will also alert your neighbors that something is wrong, when you do not turn it off.

It’s a security alarm system that requires no installation. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. Try it.

Remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot.
Whoa! From the respones …. do ALL of you live in Texas? lol We folks from California don’t have pistols, shot guns, and BIG dogs living in our house! lol

Great responses! Ya’ll ;-) hehe
Oh! I forgot …. we do have "gang-bangers" in Califorina ….. but not in our gated Senior community! I hope! lol
LOL ….. I stand corrected! *Warning* stay away from Nana T’s in California! ;-) Living in the country … I do not blame you for having guns and dogs! Heck! Living in Los Angeles is reason enough! ;-)

I just bought a new car…and because I assumed that having a panic button meant there was an alarm on there.

Whatever the case, I want an alarm on the car. A friend of the family who has been a mechanic for 30 years said it’s too late because somebody has to go in there and cut wires…and there’s a good chance that he will mess up your car’s electronics forever.

Is this true? Also, is it common for people to put in alarm systems after they buy the car?

‘Tis the season for eating, shopping and being merry, but unfortunately some people aren’t always filled with holiday cheer. Car break-ins and thefts always tend to increase during the holiday shopping season.

What do you do to keep yourself safe during holiday shopping season?

ADT distributed a press release with some tips:

•Park in a well-lit area as close to your destination as possible. Parking lots and structures are typically the most dangerous places at the mall. If you are shopping alone and feel uncomfortable walking to your car at night, ask mall security officers for an escort. Consider valet parking during the holiday season when many malls offer free or reduced price valet parking. Look for security cameras and try to park near them. Also, opt for walkways leading to malls and parking lots that have security cameras installed.

•Choose to do your holiday shopping at malls that take security seriously. Shopping destinations with regular mall security patrols and visible surveillance cameras provide an added layer of security and a deterrent to criminals.

•Take extra care when returning to your car. If you notice anyone suspicious in the parking area you can use your keys as a weapon. If needed, you can also use your car’s alarm system by pushing the panic button on your alarm remote control or car horn to draw attention.

does my scion tc have a alarm system?

I cannot tell if my scion tc has an alarm system. it is an 08. I just purchased it new 2 days ago, it has the pedastal spoiler, the fog lights, so its the "nicer" between the two models available. There is no sticker saying anything about an alarm system and it doesnt "beep" when I lock the doors. However there is a panic button that works and the little key light flashes when i remove it (something about a chip?) help!

adt burglar alarm system?

I had an ADT sueveyor come to my house. He was very friendly and chatty.

He showed me the kit.

Also, do they have some sort of backup battery systems for power failures.?

It involves a portale keypad which can be taken upstairs and has a panic button facility.

The kit also includes a 110 Decibel siren.

I am also going to get quotes from alarmfastm assure alarms, and jge.

If anyone has ever used any of these please help.

I am not sure as I have never had a burglar alarm system installed.
I am planning on getting the platinum protection plan

Is 110 decibels really enough to deter the intruders from continuing with the robbery?

And which company should I go for?
Is the wireless system reliable?
