hello brothers,

Over 3 years ago I applied to a very big Police Department, I passed everything but was put on review for psych and was sent a letter a year later stating I had failed. I had put on the written that I had seen a psych when I was 17, which I didn’t believe was an issue, I believe that may have been why I was disqualified. I really feel like I got a raw deal that time around, but thats in the passed and I am looking foward.. Now I have just passed a psychical agility for a Corrections Department. I am really praying everything goes right. There are lots of guys retiring soon and not many persons passed the agility test. (only 9, they are looking to hire 5 right now and 4 more at the end of year supposedely)What do you guys think my chances are at getting hired: Here are some of my good point and bad points of my past

Bad:
Three Prior Arrests- 18 Years old- Shoplifting- Convicted of disorderly Conduct.
20 years old- Disorderly Conduct- Result was ACD
23 Years old- Disorderly Conduct- Resisting Arrest
Prior Disqualification from Police Department.
Since I was 15 also Ive had over 10 jobs (25 now). however many of these were temp positions (summer jobs) when I was home from college, I have never been fired once in my life. Or written up. Will they understand that?

Good Points:
I am currently employed as a Private Investigator. I also have years experience in Security and bouncing.
I am very imposing physically
I have never used drugs before.
I am a born again christian, I found myself a year ago, and since my life has been wonderful (Should I even tell them this at the interview)
I have over 10 Police Officers who will vouch for me as references.

Also for my shoplifting arrest (19 years old), I take responsibility for, I will not sugar coat it, what I did was wrong but that is behind me. the Disorderly conduct’s I was collared for are a different story, the 1st one(21 years old) I was left a bar for some pizza, and they wouldnt let me in because I didnt have a stamp (my jacket with my keys was in the coat room, so I insisted on being let back in, and was collared), and the other discon(23 years old) there was an altercation with a guy I knew whom was using my cell phone, I was inside of the bar, when I walked outside I saw the cops had taken him down to the ground, and my phone was broken on the floor, I was told to leave and just requested that I could get my phone together and be on my way. Then was collared for Dis-Con and resisting.

Please give me some advice guys, I have also been told by some in LE, that I should neglect to tell them I was ever DQ’ed from a Police department in the past. I think it was my honesty about seeing a shrink and not the arrest that got me DQed the last time (when I was 21). As my background inv. told me everything was fine with my background last time I applied, and pretty much told me I was in the academy pending the psych, but I failed the psych. Any of your advice on what to say during interview would be greatly appreciated. I would really be estatic to get this job, almost all of my family is in Law Enforcement. I have mad some mistakes, But I am a good, honest person. I look foward to hearing from you brothers

thank you for your advise. I really hope this goes well. Also I should add, I was never convicted of any crime Technically in my life only dis-con. Also, Yes I am hoping I can get into Corrections to Transfer sometime to Sherriff patrol in some time as I am from Law Enforcement family, and I have made some bad judgements in my past but I feel I could be an asset to Law Enforcement.

They get people who come pick them up at the house to take them for appointments paid for by the government because they cannot drive and I have to pay local transportation along with call 24 hours in advance or talk someone into taking me if I am too sick to drive myself. They get subsidized housing along with necessities bought for them along with SSI when they have never worked or paid taxes in all their lives, cannot vote because they have multiple felonies on their records (I know I use to help these people out until I figured out the reason they would get me to drive them around is so they could sell illegal drugs or had them on them which they spent their SSI often totally on). They work under the table because they are well enough to work and I am not but I get investigated along with reviewed? I have met disabled veterans in worse shape than me who were sent home like I was without any disability to finally get a small amount from Social Security. One fell out of the sky
This one man was in a transport plane that fell out of the sky in the gulf near Iraq for most people to die and his back to be broken. His commander lied and said because he is a reservist he cannot get any disability. He said yes I can sue but I will be lucky to get anything ever. Why is it the opiate addicts I know can get themselves some bogus psych diagnosis and get all kinds of assistance and this reservist went home with a broken back with no disability and tried to support his wife along with a two year old son wearing a back brace until a judge finally got him social security disability? Shame on the US government and military.
No this is not a lie this is the truth is the problem you have difficulty believing that commanders are punished for giving out too much disability? And that the psychiatric groups push anything that keeps them getting bucks?
When I was in young people who came in running were sent home in wheel chairs and on crutches with no disability and told when you get well you can come back. By the time I got my discharge the disability because there were so many from an epidemic had gone down to 30% to 0%. Why would I lie to you obviously the news does not care about vets or all I have met who have never recieved a dime would have been shown on the news. I meet them constantly home from the Gulf wars with no assistance and no medical care with Gulf Syndrome etc.
Do any of you remember agent Orange from the Vietnam war they knew when they sprayed it that it was toxic but by the time they paid off most of the veterans who suffered from it had died so very little ever collected and I was told this at the VA by one who survived and finally got benefits after over 20 years. This is not a new practise I have lots of stories about it.
Civilian Drug addicts who never did a days work who have multiple felonies. Shame they are limiting benefits for those I have met who are insane from having served in war zones.
The problem with giving all that to these people is the ones I know spend all they can on illegal drugs which help fund the groups that do terrorism. If we can give to these people then why not the Veterans first?
