A local museum wants to exhibit a very rare precious stone. The stone is to be placed in a glass case, in the exact geometric center of a cubic room, which measures 15 feet on each side. The walls of the room are aligned with the cardinal directions (north, south, east and west). The security system has an invisible laser beam shot from a hole in the south wall. The hole is 3 feet from the east most corner of the wall and 5 feet down from the ceiling. The laser goes directly onto and through the precious stone, and it is received by a sensor on the continuation of the western wall, passed the door on the north wall. If the stone were removed, the full power of the laser would be sensed and an alarm would alert the police. Can you determine the following?
The exact location of the sensor? The length of the laser beam from source to sensor?

I currently have a basic security system with ADT. I am looking into getting video surveillance added on. Does anybody have this video surveillance package? If so, can you give me a short breakdown of how it works and I definitely am curious on the pricing of it. I just wanted to get a camera in back and in front of my place, nothing inside. A few years back, I ran with some very bad company. I have had empty threats made upon me and I am just worried. The basic system isn’t something that makes me feel very safe. I already am in the process of getting my foid card and such…I really want information on video security costs. ADT doesn’t place prices on their site…I would even be up to switching security providers if another company has a better security system. I appreciate your help in advance. Thanks!

There have been a bunch of break ins that have been going on during the day. Any suggestions to help deter home robberies/invasions in a flag lot. We have 2 dogs, flood lights, firearm, non automatic gate however, we don’t close it. I was thinking about putting up a fake security camera although not sure about wiring, or maybe security signs/stickers. Don’t have the money at the time for a security system so looking for cost effective solutions. Any thoughts experiences. thanks.

My Fiance and I have had our car broken into a few times no matter whether its locked away behind gates or not and we have been to the police who have been no help and we are wondering about a security system that can be set up outside that will connect with a laptop via WiFi inside, which will automatically record if a motion sensor is tripped within the car. Is it possible to set something up like this and what would be needed to do so.

Whats your opinion? Waste of money or worth it? Anyone have any stories where a security system worked and prevented a crime?

I just moved into a new house in Atlanta, GA and want to get a security system installed in my house. I don’t want to get a land line if I can help it, so I’d like to get one that is capable of wireless monitoring. I’d also like to pay less than the per month that so many companies advertise, but I don’t want to pay a ton to have it installed, either. And researching this is driving me crazy because no one will just give me a straight answer on what their systems cost to install and monitor! They all want to send out a "representative" (aka, salesperson) to "evaluate my home security needs" (aka, pressure me to sign a contract and spend lots of money). I know what I need, I just want to find out who can provide it and for how much! I cannot take time off work to wait for some stranger to come walk through my house and tell me what I need. Does anyone know of a security company serving Atlanta that offers good service at reasonable prices without playing games?

Ok well yesterday me and my boyfriend were talking on the phone about going to the movies today. As in the three of us. (Me, my boyfriend, and his grandma/guardian.) And he was telling me that we cant go and I was asking why alot And I didn’t realize that was why I was (accidentally) irritating him. And I was asking him why so much because we’ve been waiting for this movie date since last wednesday. That and why the repairman has to come today to fix a sensor for their security system. And when I was asking him why I accidentally cursed and said "Why the f*** not?" mind you this was not intentional at all it literally slipped out. And after that they (temporally disconnected) the phone for the rest of the day and the night last night. And I tried calling him this morning to talk about it and it’s still disconnected. And I know they’ll turn the phone back on. And now I’m just really wondering if I should call my boyfriends grandma/guardian and apologize myself or wait until my boyfriend gets home and have him tell her I’m sorry for me? What do you think I should do?

A few moments ago I noticed my security system was beeping, not the way it would if there was a break-in, but a constant beep every five to ten seconds. Checked all the doors, they were fine, but the system was beeping every few seconds with a FC on the screen. I disarmed it and it said Check System, then I rearmed it and the FC went away.
I have a security system through Guardian and the main control panel says honeywell on it. Any ideas why it was beeping?
