It seems the reason parents do this is to shield their kids from the outside world. Eventually they have to face the world and it seems like it would be a shock to them.

The fire alarm jolted us halfway during the lesson.
Suddenly the fire alarm rang and it gave us a shock halfway in lesson.
About halfway in lesson, the fire alarm jolted us.
When I travelled about halfway from home to college, I rang home.

it starts out with a girl talking about her time in high school whenever a very popular, borderline Perfect, upperclassman dies. then it goes on to say that her death was suicide and that she was in an abusive family. the main character is a sophomore at this high school and doesn’t have a lot of friends and is really shy. then it jumps. it goes to when nicole, the main character, is in college a few years later and she has this dream of the night the "incident" happened. she goes home for the weekend and pushes herself to read her old diary to confront her past. anyway, it jumps back and forth between her as a sophomore in high school and this weekend at her parents’ house. you find out that in the midst of the shock and depression that follows the girl’s death some people chose to cope with their anger by misbehaving (ie: fire alarms, vandalism, acting out) and one day there is a bomb threat. nicole, thinking it isn’t real, doesn’t take it very seriously and goes back into the school to get a jacket while the rest of the students board the buses to evacuate and when she tries to leave she is too late and the buses are gone and the doors are locked. she finds four other kids that got left behind for whatever reason, including the one with the bomb. you find out that he brought the bomb because he feels responsible for Josie’s (dead girl) suicide because he knew that her father abused her and he is pissed at the school for ignoring her death after is was leaked that it was suicide. they go through the whole thing with police and trying to talk the guy with the bomb out of it. they get the kids out, except bomb guy, who blows himself up in the end.
it is written differently than most books because it is in verse like a poem. i had a title: an ending to begin, but i think it is too cheesy and long. i want somethin short and sweet! please help??

Back when I used to work at a Burger King in the Bronx, New York, a fight occurred between two customers and two managers. If I wasn’t in such shock, I would’ve recorded the fight myself. Luckily we had the surveillance cameras in the lobby, and it was a pretty nice fight. I was wondering, since I WAS a witness, is there someway I can grab hold of a copy of the video? There’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ laugh, I say. Please help if you can.

Okay this is a scenario!
So you working in a mall and the town is a complete riot because MJ is in town! He is performing for his bad tour [1987] So your about to close the department store you work at and head home when this happens:
Security Guard[Sal]: wait! wait! sorry_____ but we have one more customer!
You: Really Sal! Are you kidding!?! One more customer and I have waste my time! This better be Madonna!
Sal: Oh its much better than Madonna!
You: ? huh ?
All of sudden you see Michael Jackson walking up the escelator and he walks over to you all graceful like and you are starstruck!
MJ: Hi.
You: *still in shock* h-h-hi!
MJ: *giggles* I love this store! Do you mind if I look around!
You: Not at all!
MJ walks in the store and you are out by the entrance with Sal.
you: OMG! how come no one told me MJ was coming by! I look horrible!
Sal: Uh, we did alot of times, we said on the notice that MJ was coming by on 9/23/87.
You: yeah but its 9/22, right?
Sal: check again sweety.
So Sal walks away and you enter the store to help him out in case he is done. You find him and you let him be, you dont want to crowd him. He occassionally looks up, glances and smiles at you. He even once bites his lip! All of a sudden, you hear, screaming, the fire alarm go off and Sal screaming, "BACK UP! BACK UP!" The fire alarm then caused the store gate to fall down and guess who has the key! Sal does. So your stuck in your store with MJ….. what happens?!?!? what do you talk about, do you talk to him!?!?

I’m allergic to penicillin, should I wear a medical bracelet incase of an emergency.
The last time I had a reaction was over 10 years ago, when I went into anaphylactic shock. Due to the severity of my reaction, should I wear one? Even though it was 10+ years ago?

I have been aware of my shellfish allergy since I was in elementary school. Recently my grandmother was diagnosed with the same. She was rushed to the hospital for anaphylatic shock. Her allergist recommended that we both get medic alert ids. Since I am young the allergist said if I went into shock I could be misdiagnosed as a drug patient? Is a med id necessary in this situation?
**anaphylactic shock
