Install video surveillance on your car?

I’m annoyed cause sometimes drivers would not pay attention and I almost get in to an accident with them. I had a perfect driving record and it got ruined cause some idiot drift too close to my lane.

I was wondering, is it possible to install some kind of surveillance cameras on to your car? For all four sides? Something simple to install. So if I do get in to an accident I can make them look bad and proof it? I was hoping something on battery power, so when I leave it on a quite street it can still film what’s going outside.

thanks.
sounds good but where can i buy such a setup? online?

I have a neighbor, he has surveillance cameras around his house back and front yard. My house is stuck together with his. No it’s not mansion like what you see in Hollywood. It’s just a small neighborhood houses. It’s like one of those stack houses.

I think they should. The robbers love looking for easy targets. If there is no surveillance camera they know they could easily get away with it. The cameras would not only prove who the robber did it, where he went, what he looks like but if the robbery ever actually happened in the first place. This could save lives!

What do you think of this? Is it good? They also require them to have carbon monoxide alarms and fire alarms and phones. So why not surveillance cameras?

I can see how surveillance cameras would help the police to solve a crime after it happens but wonder if they deter criminals at all. Recent incidents of people being robbed/attacked at the mall and WalMart parking lot, local bank robbery, etc. led me to ask this question.

I already have a motion activated camera to see who is snooping around in my backyard when I am at work.

I am thinking however, of getting surveillance cameras for my house. I have burglar bars and doors, but those only work if they are locked. If someone follows me home and sticks a gun in my face as I am unlocking the gate to my driveway, obviously, I am going to comply. There are no secrets in this ghetto, so I assume the local gang members know I have guns. So I fear them ambushing me one night and getting access to my house. I am five foot four and 118 pounds and not very physically imposing. Also the gun I carry is only a .25 auto, and I carry it in such a way as to avoid detection in a stop and frisk, so a quick draw is out of the question. So if someone draws a 9 (the current favorite weapon of 18th Street Gang) on me, I will have to comply.

I think it might be useful, if some gang members are in my house to tell them :"Oh, by the way, there are six cameras that have been taking your pictures. Kill me, and you will spend the next 30 years on Death Row."

But all that would depend on them NOT being able to locate the video recorder. Is there some internet service that you can pay to upload video and store it, so burglars and criminals cannot get ahold of it?

I live in Los Angeles. There are no gun permits here.

If you actually believe that someone would rather be inside prison rather than outside of it, you lack a fundamental understanding of the real world.

There are no gun permits in Los Angeles. Big city cops do not like locals. They like other cops and view all non cops as the enemy. 18th Gang has 25,000 members. They are not afraid of the 10,000 members of the Los Angeles Police Department and they are not afraid of me. I guess you live in a really small town. All your advice is worthless in a mega city. Stick to gving advice to Mayberry R.F.D.

Am I an evil person if I hate Internet Explorer?

Do you think that Internet Explorer should be hacked, packed, and sent into the bottom of infinite suffering and hell for the sins that it commits by wasting our time?
This has been three days since I am trying to get a a remote access to the surveillance cameras at our office. By fixing one problem I find myself facing ten more. I feel so frustrated with Q-See, since the only browser you can use for remote access is old, rubbish, despicable Internet Explorer. What are they at Microsoft doing anymore? Can not they learn a little from other efficient, fast and handy browsers like FireFox and Chrome? They are right when they say "IE is only good for one thing: Downloading other browsers."

Amount of video surveillance in cities?

I was wondering if anyone knows the extent how many surveillance cameras there are in the average "bustling" city (something like New York, London, Chicago, ect.)
How many cameras, how good they are, and what they’re being used for specfically.

Is video surveillance camera technology stable?

Strange question but I want to buy a video camera detector. Even stranger huh… I found out about these devices recently. It is a device that detects wireless video cameras that are monitoring you like in elevators, gas stations, banks and (I want to find out where else). These detectors have a video display [cool] and actually show you the vision of the surveillance cameras so you can find out where they are mounted. The trouble is, these detectors cost about 500 bucks so if the frequency range of the wireless monitors changes the detector will be obsolete and worthless. NOTE> This is not going to be used for terrorist activity so don’t go thinking you will be a hero to report me to the feds. You may wonder why i would want such a toy but i am just extremely curious who is watching me and then i might wonder why. I remember speaking freely at gas station pumps and the cashier would be listening in on the conversation which i do think is totally illegal to do if not related to gas.
