The thermostat is digital. About 4 years old.

I am replacing my old thermostat, the wiring is as follows:

green wire > G terminal
blue wire > Y terminal
white wire > W terminal
red wire > R terminal

there is a jumper between the r’s as well

I am replacing this with a white-rodgers 1F85-0471..which I can not contact on Saturday..thought might get some help here

should i use the same terminals on the white rodgers? the wiring diagram in the installation instructions are very vague. appreciate any help.

I have two cables that were connected to my old style thermostat – Black and white. I have only heat connected and it is gas, no central air conditioning. Thanks!

Ok so we purchased our 1st house and we have done some work to it. The heating system (our 3rd time using it while fixing up the house) decided to bang really loud causing smoke our fire alarms to go off & us calling the fire dept. Great way to meet the neighbors!
Well we had to have this replaced http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/tat2ed4eva82/IMG_0914.jpg <p>Since then everything has worked fine…That is until last night. I woke up pretty early to find it was cold. Our thermostat read 62…we had the heat on 69.

<p> Sorry for the bad quality but it gives you an idea of what’s going on. I will turn the heat off for a few hours then when it is really cold I will turn it back on. It will work for 10-15 minutes pushing out warm to hot air but then shut it’s self down (the video was taken after the heat stopped working) and will continue to make the noise until I shut off the heat. I can’t see the moor being the problem we just replaced it less than 6 months ago.

<p> I know it’s a little older, about 15 yrs old…but we are trying to keep it alive at least until the spring to replace it. But if it can be fixed I rather do that before dumping ,000+ for a new system. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong? I called my HVAC guy and he can’t make it out today to find out what’s wrong. I have 2 young kids & don’t want them to freeze during the night.
It is Gas….
We do have 2 heater fans keeping us ok at the moment, but when it gets to be night time it will get colder. I also went around the entire house today to check all my batteries in the smoke & carbon detectors so we are all safe if anything major is wrong.

when i set the switch to "auto" and "heat", nothing happens. when i set it to "on" and "heat" i get cold air. no warm air. please help.. sometimes the heat kicks on after running the thermostat to "on" for a while..

Thermostat installed in Dec 08 and was working fine. When unit is shut to off the fan keeps running even though it is on auto. The only way it shuts off is after turning breaker off and waiting and turning it back on it runs briefly then shuts off.

My condo, built in the 60′s has a Taco brand old coil thermostat that barely works. I want to replace it with a digital, programmable one like a Honeywell or Lux brand. Can I just buy one and replace it or is there something that I need to know about? Is there a certain criteria I need to follow or types to avoid? Thanks!!!

PS: My condo has gas heat and it is paid for in my condo fees.

a simple gas heat furnace that was only using a black and a white wire to the old thermostat. This does not match anything, maybe white, but what about black?
Red wire, black wire are actually the two coming from the wall, disregard the white.

Honeywell CT3200 not responding to buttons:

Pressing the cooler button doesn’t reduce the temperature. Fan is set on AUTO. Changing it to ON will turn the fan ON. Only the Cool/Heat/Off and Fan On/Off switches are working. Thermostat is not responding to any other buttons. Please help!
There is power in the thermostat. The display is ON. The AC tunrs ON and OFF based on the daily schedule. The Thermostat is not responding to any buttons except FAN ON/AUTO and COOL/HEAT/OFF. If the fuse is out, will the A/C even work?
