Internet Security!?

I am using Avira Anti-Virus Personal Edition (free edition) , Zone Alarm , Spybot -Search & Destroy, and Windows Defender. Avira im using to get rid of viruses, Zone alarm for a firewall, and spybot and windows defender for spyware. I am currently running on windows xp. If i use all these programs to protect my computer will it slow down my computer? are these programs good enough to protect my computer? and lastly, what are the best combinations of internet security that i should use?

I have Norton and Windows Defender for my Vista home premium pc.
Wow, that was fast! I really didn’t expect answers this quickly! Thanks. Guess I won’t download it then! lol… Also thanks for clarifying the reasons I shouldn’t.
Just to remind you all… I DO have norton, I haven’t noticed it slowing down my pc at all, except when I want to install some games, then I have to turn it off… and my pc is FAAAST! :D Thanks!
Most of you have given such great answers! Thank you so much for your help. It’s about 50/50 between Norton and Avast! What to do, what to do! lol… I see I can’t have more than one going at a time tho and that was the question in the first place. Thank you so much! I’ll download and save it to cd til I’m ready for it… Since I bought Norton, I may as well let the time run out! lol… THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!

Windows Defender comes with Vista so I can use that one or I can use Symantec Endpoint Protection provided to me for free by my college. Can I use them both? If not which one should I use?

I am running WindowsXP w/sp2 and having lots of problems & was wondering if there is such a thing as too much protection on a computer. I have the original firewall but I am also running; Windows Defender, Windows Antispyware, Errordoctor, Errorkiller, AVG, & Spybot Search and Destroy. I keep having all kinds of problems & was wondering if I am sending conflicting instructions by having so many scans. If I do have too many which ones should I keep?

Does anyone know of any good all-in-one virus/spam/spyware protection freeware?

I currently use Windows Defender for spyware, not sure how it defends against Viruses, and I use Spam Fighter for spam protection. I’d much rather use one application for all. If all that exists are paid options, I’d consider it.

Computer Security Programs…?

I have sooo many programs, and it is really slowing down my pc. I know I need to weed out some, but I’m unsure of which I need to keep versus clean out. I want to keep Spyware Doctor for sure. Which of these should I keep along with that?
Also, is there anything that is wonderful (and hopefully free) that I should add/ get instead?

Current Programs:
Spyware Doctor 6
Spybot Search & Destroy
Ad-Aware
Avast! Home Edition
Peer Guardian 2
Malwarebytes
AVG Free 8.0 -(expiring in 3 days)

(I also have Windows Defender which is currently turned off, HijackThis and CCleaner which I’ll keep all 3 of these)

Thanks for the advice!

Hey everyone!

I need your help to review and give comments to my free security softwares combination that I am using on my computer.
Do recommend better alternatives which are also free to replace or to add on and let me know why is it better if there is any.
Thanks a bunch!

Security softwares combination:
-Avast! Home Edition
-Comodo Internet Security (without its bundled Anti-Virus installed)
-Mcafee SiteAdvisor
-WOT: Web Of Trust
-Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
-SUPERAntiSpyware
-Secunia PSI

Cleaning tool:
-CCleaner

Windows’ defaults:
-Windows Defender
-Windows Firewall

Other Informations:
-Windows 7 (64-bit)
-Internet Explorer 8
Threatfire doesn’t support 64-bit OS if i can remember. because i have tried to install it last time but failed.
