what is the best virus protection once my current one expires?

i have trendmicro installed on my laptop and was wondering should i get a update for it or get something else once it expires on November 5,2008. plz don’t say norton security.

I would never say Norton- it is junk that hogs your memory.I would keep PcCillin from trend micro if you have not had any infections. I use it and never have a virus or spyware. & I look at the porn sites all the time. never a virus. good luck.
i know choosing an antivirus protection is a a tough job.
infact i have used atleast 5 of them in the last 3 months. still i’m not fully satisfied. what i can suggest you to do is , get an internet security suite instead of only a virus program. it will take care of the firewall, the antivirus,spyware, spam filter, parental control anti phishing software all in one. 3 suites i have really liked, 1. zone alarm security suite 7.x
2. kaspersky security suite 7.x
3.panda internet security suite 2008
the other one is 4. norton security suite 2007..well i know u dont like norton but u can have a look at it. its really fast.

well i use Avast Antivirus and works GREAT for me.
it mite not be that u never got a virus, it mite be the fact that ur antivirus didnt detect the virus.
