what security mode should i use for my home wireless network?

I suggest to use WPA2 if your device supports it. By default it should use AES(it is better than TKIP) but check it to be sure about it. Be sure any other encryption methods are disabled. Chose a good pre-shared key as told.

Try AES with a WPA Personal pre-shared key. Make the key strong by including numbers, upper and lower case letters, and one symbol ($, #, ! *, %, etc.) Example: T1meI$Now. Works great! Hope this helps…
Don’t use WEP. Very low level of protection.
